Saint Peter, Minnesota’s Govenaires can trace its roots all the way back to 1927 when the group was organized as the St. Peter Legion Corps. The corps took its current name in the late 1960s in honor of five Minnesota governors who had come from the corps’ hometown. First competing at the Drum Corps Associates Championships in 2004, Govenaires took top honors in DCA’s Class A in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015. In addition to drum corps events, the ensemble also takes part in a variety of community performances each year.
