Fred Sanford
Inducted in 1991
Fred Sanford began his drum corps with the Troopers in 1959, and later moved to the Santa Clara Vanguard, where he spent more than 15 years developing percussion writing into a symphonic art. Some of is best known arrangements are SCV's "Fiddler on the Roof," "Appalachian Spring" and "Young Person's Guide to Drum Corps." Sanford also arranged for the the Blue Devils.
Sanford passed away in 2000.
