Drum Corps Europe (DCE) will host its annual Championships this Saturday, Sept. 25 at Parkstad Limburg Stadium in Kerkrade, the Netherlands.
After starting the season on May 22, events in the Netherlands, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy have led to this single-day event in Kerkrade. It will feature 22 corps in two competitive classes representing six different countries.
Dutch group Jubal who is the reigning DCE Champion from 2009, will be looking to continue its winning ways in 2010 against a tough field of competition. At the Drum Corp Netherlands Championship on Sept. 11, Juliana Drum and Bugle Corps of Middelburg snatched the Dutch title from Jubal by less than a point.
Jubal members, who last performed for American drum corps fans at the 2006 DCI World Championships, are scheduled to take a 2011 tour of the United States where they have been invited to perform at the conclusion of the World Championship Semifinals in honor of their 100th anniversary.
Drum Corps Europe will provide a live webcast of Saturday's performances free of charge beginning at 5 a.m. EDT (9 a.m. GMT).
