“Bringing the life-enriching benefits and enjoyment of marching music performing arts to more people worldwide” is the fundamental mission of Drum Corps International.
To help ensure the fulfillment of this mission now and in the years to come – and in celebration of its 50th Anniversary – DCI has created its new “Legacy Fund” to provide financial resources directly to participants in DCI ensembles and the annual summer tour.
“The establishment of the Legacy Fund will enable Drum Corps International to assist a greater number of outstanding young people by helping to attract donations specifically for tour fee scholarships across our entire community,” said Dan Acheson, DCI CEO. “We will work to grow this fund every year to maximize the number of awards we are able to present, in an effort to help lower the barriers to entry for aspiring musicians and performers wishing to take their place on the greatest stage in marching music.”
The Legacy Fund will help add to a growing number of scholarships offered by Drum Corps International, its partners and supporting organizations, which on an annual basis assists participating corps members with tens of thousands of dollars in funding.
To kickoff the Legacy Fund initiative and to continue the celebration of a half-century of spellbinding performances and remarkable performers, DCI is pleased to announce the DCI 50th Anniversary Photo Mosaic project.
“Fans from around the world can take part in the Golden Anniversary of DCI by adding photos from their personal photo albums to a season-long project which will celebrate our colorful shared history, as we begin to build a fund to help plant the seeds for our future,” said Bob Jacobs, Sr. Director of Marketing.” It’s going to be a lot of fun for our friends and family members spanning all generations and continents to contribute to the mosaic while raising money to assist future generations of performers.”
