From a Teal Sound press release: Jeffrey Willis will serve as Teal Sound's percussion caption head for the 2006 season. The corps is excited to have Jeffrey return to the Teal Sound family.

Willis is currently a graduate assistant in the area of percussion at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where he is pursuing a master's of percussion performance. He is responsible for assisting with the TCU drum line, assisting and conducting percussion ensembles, as well as percussion methods courses. Willis is principal of the TCU symphony orchestra, performs in the wind symphony and percussion ensembles, and currently studies with Dr. Richard Gipson.

In addition, Willis holds a bachelor of music education degree from the University of Central Florida where he studied with Jeffrey Moore. He also has extensive experience in the area of marching percussion, having been involved in the drum corps activity for more than 11 years as a performer, educator and arranger. Most recently, he instructed the snareline of the 2004 Magic. In addition, Willis served as front ensemble technician, snare technician, and co-arranger with Teal Sound 2000-2003. Additionally, Willis has also arranged and/or instructed for several high school programs in the states of California, Florida, Georgia and Texas. Finally, Willis was co-arranger for the Millennium Marching Band, a marching organization from Italy, in 2004.

While residing in Texas, Willis maintains an active performing career as a freelance percussionist as well as a performing in the Bravura Percussion Trio, an intercollegiate ensemble dedicated to performing prominent chamber percussion music.
