Clarke Williams - DCI Hall of Fame
Clarke Williams
Inducted in 1999
Clarke's ongoing contributions to the drum corps activity are unparralleled, and his loyalty, character and integrity are examples of how a leader should and could become an ideal role model for the young people who will follow in his footsteps. To have judged every DCI World Championship since 1972 and to have stayed "current" throughout the evolution of the art form is remarkable! To have done it with class, dignity, integrity and passion for drum corps and compassion for drum corps participants is extraordinary!
His personal honesty, integrity, courage and dedication to the activity have always been the hallmarks of his involvment. His concern for the corps and their members, his dedication and loyalty to the activity are characteristics which have always made himone of the key members of the DCI judging community.
His most important contributions to the drum corps arena are not in the work that he has accomplished but rather in the person that he is. At a time when there are few role models for young adults, he stands out as an exception. Clarke is an individual who consistently demonstrates by example what rules we should live by. He is the epitome of a gentleman and in this fashion has altered the activity.
